Tabahi CL Fixtures

What else you can call the latest draws between great football rivalries of our time.
Arsenal-Manu, Barcelona-Chelsea ... What else can be better than this, especially for a neutral football fan like me.
I hope Barca wins, but they face a daunting task ahead in face of Chelsea and then probably Manu in final. Both teams having contrasting styles to that of Barca. English ishtyle... bhad bhad :). I mean more physical. But Barca has a class... swiftness in their Spanish samba.
That is why i like Spanish Primera and somewhat hate English teams

Khatarnak CL Fixtures

Here is my favorite tournament for which i can skip most of the Indian cricket matches... Champions League. But alas, again like last time 4 English teams have made it to the round of 8. And only Barcelona looks like a team from the rest to stand in their way. Ofcourse, Bayern is awesome in their matches against Sporting Lisbon. But havent saw them playing so cannot comment on that. But looks promising.
Some of the main news from the fixtures summed up here:
  • Real get thrashes 4-0 by Liverpool. Raul issues an apology(Rightly so)
  • Bayern Munich thrashes opponent by record goals
  • Sir Alex won Jose bhaiya, at last :)
  • Arsenal sneaks through, luckily
  • Chelsea too... thanks to Chelliani, Juventus player
So will follow CL this time untill Barcelona thrashes Manu in final... maybe.

Futbal Shutbal Hai Rabba !!

My fav team Barcelona is on transfer spree, (have sold Ronaldinho, Deco and probably Eto'o)
1) Gerard Pique
2) Dani Alves
3) Martín Cáceres
4) Seydou Keita
With all these defensive signings and such a prolific attack(maybe after 1 striker signing) , Barca has some strength now. Also Inter Milan, i feel is a team to watch out for after Jose Mourinho has confirmed to join it. Already winning Italian league 3 consecutive times, they are now serious contenders of Champions League. AC Milan has also signed Ronaldinho... hmmm

On the whole i am ranking what i think are the best signings of this season so far:
According to me Top 5 transfers, hires :

1) Mourinho hired coach of Inter Milan.
2) Ronaldinho(R10) moves to Ac Milan. Now will he take Seedorf's No.10 shirt??
3) Mancini joining Inter.
4) Chelsea signing Deco. (Actually i think there's no need for Chelsea to hire him. Scolari sees something which i dont see )
5) Mathieu Flamini from Arsenal to AC Milan.

Overall i think Barcelona and Ac Milan (to be precise, intelligent transfers) are the ones who are the ones making best transfers, and rightly so after poor display of these clubs last season. Hoping for a Barca vs Ac Milan Champions League Final...

I-Man: IBM Ad

Have you seen IBM’s “Innovation Man” commercial? I think it’s really sarcastic and for those of you who haven’t seen it, I’ll try to capture it’s essence…
Scene: Outside an office building, female business professional walking out comes across a geek-cum-nerd middle-aged guy in a superhero outfit (SupperPhunny) with a large “I” across his chest.
Says she: “So what does the “I” stands for?”
He proclaims:
………………………………………………..”Innovation”
………………………………………………..”Ideation”
………………………………………………..”Imagination” ... dum dum.
She asks: Implementation??
He:
………………………………………………..”Darn! I knew I forgot something!”

SupperPhunny. And the lady drool-maal :)

Well the ad quite catches the essence of doing business in IT. Last I of utmost importance.

Champions League

With the semi-final berths of Champions League almost booked, i came up with a conclusion which contradicts my earlier one. I perceived European league football as a good example of Globalisation. With various players from all the world playing for so many leagues across Europe, i saw an equal weight distribution among various teams. There was a sense of healthy competition between various teams.
Consecutively for second year 3 English teams have qualified in semi-finals. And in the near future i don't see their dominance decreasing, if not increasing!. But the irony is, English national team is scaling plunges. Recently being ousted from Euro Cup by a meager Croatia in its own den they don't have much to show for. Apart, from the fact that they can spend a lot of money on overseas players nothing to show for. Gerrard too made a point that local talent is not starting in major English teams. That's concerning!.
So the point i am making is: I am just pissed of watching all these English teams reaching the Semis...
IMAO: Give some money to different clubs too!!!
Moreover it's going to be repeat of previous year. Barca all the way... hurray!!

Taare Zameen Par

Hats off to Amir Khan for again delivering a quality product and for me,an answer to the 2007's equally good movie 'Chak De'.But the credit should be given to Tare... for striking the right note with such a sensuous but difficult subject. So beautiful was the portrayal of emotions in this movie that can leave, even the not-so-soft-hearted ones, spell-bound. I guess almost all the women crowd gathered in the hall was sobering :).
And not to mention, amazing timing of all the songs...Simply Superb. All the actors fit well in their roles and i am sure they can give anyone a run for their money. Especially Tisca Chopra, stupendous performance!!!. I guess she was the emotional fulcrum of the movie, since she was a character which is emotionally very attached with Darsheel(the kid).
In the end a very sweet movie for everyone.

Barca Barca!!!

My cultivation of interest in Football is a long story. As a kid, i used to test my newly-brought shoes to some gruelling sessions of Football-with-something-you-can-kick :). That's something you can play with a variety of things varying from a TT-ball to a football. However, ths game tests not only your footballing skills but you grit and will-power to stand against Dhool-Mitii.

Then i had some good rendezvous when i was in college. Playing with three versions of Fifa(2004,2005,2006) i gained enough experience to determine that Barcelona is a team with which i can beat someone like Desi in a multiplayer game. 4-1-2-1-2 gives you a lot more option to attack, well atleast in the computer game. I also used to break my legs in playing field.

Well, i can say Barcelona as a team is not that bad either. Add to it Nou Camp and it's atmosphere, its a place to be. How will is visit ther, that's a big question!... But neways an ardent fan of Barca. I hope this weekend Barca proves it's metal against Real Madrid, the EL Clasico and wins Champions and Spanish Primera. Again hope to visit Barca when the likes of Ronaldinho, Messi, Henry, Eto'o, Puyol are still in place. Remember Red, Hope is a good thing...
Cmon Barca!!
